Three British Sikh activists could face extradition to India, after being arrested in dawn raids on suspicion of murder and attempted murder

The Sikh Federation UK says many in the community are “deeply concerned” the arrests are linked to forthcoming trade talks.

They were held at HMP Wandsworth awaiting bail, which was granted and they’re now back with their families.

Bhai Amrik Singh, the organisation’s chair, says if they’re extradited, “they would almost certainly be tortured and have no chance of a fair trial”.

The Home office says the Home Secretary has not yet been asked to decide whether to order extradition, but as the matter is before the courts, it would not be appropriate to comment further.
