Kingston Hospital has had to stop its homebirth service due to pressures from the pandemic.

The Ambulance service is dealing with “unprecedented” demand, and cannot guarantee a timely response if there’s an emergency.

Women booked for a home birth will be contacted, and will continue to receive antenatal and postnatal care form their midwives.

Kingston says they will resume it as soon as possible.
