Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner is calling for first responders to be prioritised to receive a Covid-19 vaccine.

David Munro says police, ambulance drivers and firefighters put themselves at higher risk by interacting with the public.

They are also putting their loved ones in harms way because they are more liable to contract and transmit the virus.

PCC David Munro said: “I must make it clear that I fully support prioritisation for the vulnerable based on clinical need and would not want anything to distract from that.

“This would mean that vital spaces in vaccination centres would not be taken up but that those on the frontline can get the protection they need.”
