Schools in Kingston could lose nearly £250,000 in funding following changes to the method of calculating “Pupil Premiums"

A Freedom of Information request by Schools’ Week found funding will now be based on school numbers in October rather than January.

The Pupil Premium was a reform introduced by the Lib Dems in 2011 to help the most disadvantaged pupils.

It aims to close the attainment gap by providing extra funds to pupils eligible for free school meals.

We’re awaiting a statement from Kingston Council.
