A man who “constructed a web of lies” to defraud a woman of her life savings has been jailed for three years.

40-year-old Qaiser Saeed from Hayes met the woman via an online dating site, pretending to own his own company.

He claimed to be a victim of fraud with a frozen bank account, and the money the woman sent to him totalled over £47,000.

He was arrested in 2014, but fled to Pakistan.

In 2019, he was arrested again at Heathrow, when he flew in on a student Visa.
