Firefighters were called at 11:16 to reports of smoke coming from an electrical junction box on the pavement.
Two people were evacuated from surrounding properties and a 25m cordon was put in place as a precaution
A small part of the pavement was damaged by the fire but there are no reports of any injuries.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
