Summer getaway optimism has helped send shares flying in the airline industry

British Airways owner International Airline Group led the FTSE100 index with a gain of 3% or 3.8p to 144p.

EasyJet shares also rose 15p as the industry expects booking for this summer to build significantly after Easter.
