People in Richmond are being asked to take part in wood burning research this winter

The council has won a joint DEFRA bid alongside thirteen other London boroughs to investigate its health effects.

The research will take measurements in volunteers’ homes where solid fuel is burned in an open fireplace or wood burning stove.

The project aims to improve scientific understanding about how different types of solid fuel burning can affect air quality.

Imperial College London will undertake the investigations on behalf of Richmond Council and The London Wood Burning Project. If you would like to take part, email [email protected].
