There are calls for the head of the Royal Mail and the full board to meet with the union.

45 MPs are calling for the Wimbledon-based Communication Workers Union to speak to them, following the decision to cut up to 10,000 jobs. 

Streatham MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy is among those who have signed a letter, accusing the postal service of an “asset-stripping agenda”. 

Royal Mail’s parent company has reported a loss of £219 million for the first half of this year, and is blaming £70 million of that on strikes.
