It means anyone who causes antisocial behaviour as a result of drinking can have their alcohol seized.
However, the council says that anyone who wishes to have a picnic in a park or the common will continue to be able to do so.
Councillor Eleanor Stringer says they don’t want it to be “solely punitive” and they want to help people who have drinking problems.
