19 of Sunday’s London Marathon runners have raised an impressive £50,000 for a charity in North Cheam.

St Raphael’s Hospice has been providing care to people across Sutton and Merton from its base and in the community for over 30 years.

It costs over £6 million a year to operate, relying heavily on public donations, legacies and fundraising to keep it going.

Sunday’s running supporters included a GP, school-teacher and one man who had travelled all the way from Texas to run on its behalf.
