A rare portrait of Henry VIII's sixth and final wife Katherine Parr will go to auction at Sotheby’s next month.

It’s the only known contemporary portrait of the former queen is estimated to fetch up to £800,000. 

Katherine married the king at Hampton Court Palace in 1543 when she was 30. 

The couple were together for five years, until Henry's death in 1547.
