Wetherspoons has responded to photos that appear to show mousetraps at The Watchman circulating on social media.
One diner claimed that the trap was visible at the pub at the Fountain Roundabout during lunchtime service.
A spokesperson for the chain says “measures to prevent pest activity are commonly used in food premises.
Humane traps are part of that process. We are sorry that their presence caused concern to customers.
We can assure customers that The Watchman does not have a pest infestation.”
The pub holds a maximum five star food hygiene rating from Kingston Council in the “Scores on the Doors” scheme.
