Police were called at 04.49am to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian near the Robin Hood junction by Rydal Gardens.
Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service.
The 82-year-old male pedestrian was taken to hospital
where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
His next of kin has been informed.
The driver of the car helped officers with their enquiries.
There have been no arrests.
Police
are now appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage.
