Hounslow House Library is reopening its doors for the first time in a year just in time for the Summer Reading Challenge

The challenge encourages youngsters aged 4 to 11 years-old to enjoy the benefits of reading for pleasure during the summer holidays.

This year the challenge has a nature theme aiming to inspire children to stand up for the planet.

They’ll be directed to books about how they can make their communities a cleaner and greener place for people and wildlife

Cllr Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said:

“We are delighted to be reopening another one of our libraries forced to close due to the pandemic. We know that all our libraries are much-loved and an important part of the community. Our staff have been working really hard to reopen and we look forward to welcoming residents back.
