Two building firms have been fined £5,000 each, after a worker fell to his death at a site in Wimbledon.

Philip Drinkwater of Prestige Roofing in New Malden and Dean Glen of DDP Scaffolding in Horley, were in charge at the site in 2018.

Glen installed the scaffolding, and Drinkwater allowed the roof work to go ahead, despite a gap and unsafe ladder access.

The Health and Safety Executive says that a cheap, easy to install scaffold gate would have prevented Anthony Bradley’s death.
