A former Gurkha and current Mayor of Hounslow has been rushed to hospital with a suspected heart attack, during a hunger strike outside Downing Street

Dhan Gurung is on his twelfth day of starvation, as part of a protest over pensions.

He’s said to still be refusing to break his hunger strike.

Calls are growing for the Prime Minister to meet the Gurkhas.

The Ministry of Defence say they “greatly value” the Gurkhas and “ensure they are supported with a generous pension and medical care during retirement in Nepal”.
