An open call went out to artists from the council earlier this year to submit their designs.
The winning sculptures, which range from a multi-coloured spinning top to a steel crescent moon, were chosen by a specialist panel.
The trail, which takes people on a journey through the town centre, officially launches to the public on Saturday.
