Local government and business leaders in Croydon have written to the Chancellor to urge him to extend the furlough scheme.

13 thousand residents in Croydon are currently on furlough. From tomorrow business costs will double and the scheme is due to end in September. 

The letter, signed by leading councillors and members of the local Chambre of Commerce, warns Rishi Sunak that without an extension more people could end up out of work and claiming benefits.
