Gullies and drains are being cleared across Sutton following two torrential downpours in as many weeks.

The council is undertaking the work as a preventative measure to help stop flooding.

Last week’s weather resulted in areas including Central Road in Worcester Park becoming unpassable with some cars submerged. 

Sutton is urging residents who think their drains may be blocked to get in contact and to call 999 in an emergency.
