Sutton’s Council’s deputy leader says he looks forward to welcoming Afghans seeking safety from the Taliban.

The Government has pledged to take in 20,000 refugees from the war -torn country over the next 5 years. 

A number of councils across the UK have already expressed their commitment to re-homing refugees. 

Manuel Abellan says “Sutton is ready to support Afghans in such desperate need in whatever way we can as a borough.”
