A coroner has recommended trams have automatic braking systems following the crash in Croydon that killed seven people.

On the 9th of November 2016, a tram came off the tracks near Sandilands travelling more than three times the speed limit.

The carriage derailed and overturned, injuring more than 50 people.

In July an inquest jury found the crash was an accident.
