James John Wood was arrested after officers were called to Walton Bridge Road following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.
The victim, who died at the scene last September, was later identified as 52-year-old Brendan Sean O’Connell.
60 year old Wood pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving when he appeared in court this morning.
