A minister's denied the business secretary lied when he claimed he'd spoken to the chancellor about help for firms struggling with rising energy costs

Yesterday, a Treasury source denied any such conversations have taken place with Spelthorne MP Kwasi Kwarteng.

Mr Kwarteng will hold more talks with companies later.

When asked if his colleague tells "porkies", security minister Damian Hinds said no.
