With temperatures set to dip over the next few weeks, Surrey is preparing for the arrival of a number of new gritting machines.

The vehicles are part of a two year roll out of state of the art gritters across the country.

Surrey, Sussex and Kent are to receive 36 which will be shared between the three counties.

The new vehicles are equipped with technology which allows gritting routes to be uploaded directly into the vehicle.
