A popular nature trail through Barnes is closing for the next two weeks after several of its trees were found to be badly decayed

Richmond council says the work is essential  for public safety. 

The Thames Path National Trail will be off limits Monday to Friday between Leg O’ Mutton nature reserve and Hammersmith Bridge.

The trees will be managed through pollarding and coppicing to make the area safe for continued public use.
