People in Mole Valley who leave their homes empty for more than two years could be hit with a 150% council tax premium.

There are 122 such properties in the district which encompasses Leatherhead and Ashtead.  

A 300% premium is also being considered by the council for properties that have been empty for ten years or more. 

Authority bosses say empty homes drive up demand for housing.
