The Richmond furniture Scheme wants to prevent poverty and help the environment at Christmas by supplying donated household goods.

It comes as many families from across the UK shell out for emergency plastic or foldable chairs and tables.

The scheme wants to not only help those poorest in society but also get them to think about the environment by reducing waste and reusing donated furniture.

RFS currently have over 100 chairs and 25 dinning tables that they encourage residents to consider borrowing for the festive period.
