Plans have been ditched for a ferry service replacement for Hammersmith Bridge.

Baroness Vere, who heads the government taskforce, says there’s been positive news about the stabilisation and strengthening works.

She says that the £4m investment and the bridge remaining open to pedestrians and cyclists mean the ferry is “very unlikely to be needed”.

It was due to be up and running in the spring, but has suffered a number of setbacks
