The MP for Tooting says that if MPs weren’t allowed to take second jobs, she’d continue to work at St George’s Hospital unpaid.

Dr Rosena Allin-Khan is writing in the Independent, following revelations that Sir Geoffrey Cox used his parliamentary office for other work.

She says she works “a couple of shifts a month” on average at the hospital, depending on whether or not parliament is sitting.

The former Attorney General has been referred to the parliamentary commissioner for investigation.
