Free panic alarms are being handed out to people living in Chelsea.

The small devices, which can be clipped on to clothes, can be carried when out running at night or going to the shops.

If the user feels unsafe, they pull a cord, and a high-pitched alarm will sound which acts as a deterrent and alert for help.

The move by the council is part of its drive to make people feel safer when out and about.
