A house described as “practically in the gardens of Hampton Court” is up for sale for £6m

Ivy House was built in 1778, and was once owned by the Countess of Effingham, who was the “most talked of” person at George III’s coronation.

The house includes a 29 square metre library, a coal and log store, and a wine cellar.

Country Life says that the large double garage “has space for a shiny new Rolls-Royce”.
