The firebrigade and the RNLI was called out Twickenham riverside earlier after skip lorry slipped from the road into the river.

As the tide was at its highest the driver was trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters secured the lorry to stop it from moving further into the water while the RNLI smashed the driver’s window to free him.

The man didn’t sustain any injuries.
