The Metropolitan Police is asking permission directly from the Court of Appeal to challenge a ruling against it, over the Sarah Everard vigil

Last month the High Court found officers breached the rights of the event's organisers, with its handling of the planned event on Clapham Common last March.

The force said in a statement that the appeal is about the decisions and communications with organisers beforehand.
