Some council run sports facilities in Richmond are still out of action after the Covid pandemic resulted in a recruitment crisis.

The authority operates seven leisure centres across the borough serving just under 2,000 members. 

Bosses say they have experienced “significant difficulty” in recruitment to key posts, including lifeguards.

One of the big concerns is swimming pools, with the council saying it’s looking to deliver a timetable to ensure minimal disruption.
