A hundred fire fighters, with fifteen fire engines, are currently putting out a fire on a school playing field, and some wastelands in Norbury.

Believed to have been caused by a wildfire, neighbours of Turle Road were evacuated from their homes at around 12.30pm, this afternoon.

Plumes of smoke have darkened the London skyline for miles around with residents close to Woodmansterne School and Norbury Manor School, told to leave their homes by firefighters.

Others were urged to keep their windows and doors shut as temperatures are hitting 22 degrees.
