The London Fire Brigade have confirmed the fire in Norbury on a school playing field and some wastelands, is now under control.

 Believed to have been caused by a wildfire, neighbours of Turle Road were evacuated from their homes at around 12.30, this afternoon.

Plumes of smoke darkened the London skyline for miles around with residents close to Woodmansterne School and Norbury Manor School told to leave their homes by firefighters.
