Climate protesters have been making a biod to disrupt construction work on a new pipeline to supply aviation fuel to Heathrow airport.

Members of extinction rebellion paraded in a mock funeral procession to the construction site in Hampshire and dog a grave for a small coffin they said represented the children of the future.

The new pipeline will fuel jets directly from the Fawley Oil refinery near Southampton.

The protesters say airt travel is a major driver of global warming.

They also claim the pipeline threatens protected habitats in the Thames basin heathlands around Chobham and Woking.
