More than two in five courts have closed since 2010

That includes Magistrates courts in Kingston, Sutton, Richmond and Feltham.

The Bar Council, which represents barristers in England and Wales, thinks the public could "lose confidence" in the judicial process as a result.

It says backlogs were growing even before the pandemic because of the closures, which mean people need to travel further and for longer, and waiting lists have kept going up.
