The Labour MP for Brentford has voiced serious concerns over the abolition of the Department for International Development.

Ruth Cadbury has reacted to the merging of staff and functions of the DIFD with the Foreign Office.

The two departments were originally separated in 1997 by Labour after a scandal relating aid to a dam in Malaysia with an arms deal.

The DIFD was known for treating HIV across the world and committing aid to the vulnerable.
