A new petition calling for the scrapping of measures attempting to reduce traffic in Fulham is being circulated by MP Greg Hands
The member for Chelsea and Fulham is calling for the cancellation of the ‘SW6 Traffic Reduction Scheme’ which came in in July.
The scheme from Hammersmith and Fulham council aims to bring down the number of motorists in the area with traffic barriers and fines for non-residents.
People who live there can apply for permits to drive in and out of the new ‘Low Traffic Neighbourhoods’.
Mr Hands argues that “visitors, traders, carers and essential delivery drivers” are being unduly penalised by the scheme.
We’ve contacted both parties for further comment.
