A lorry driver has been given a suspended sentence after driving while disqualified and without insurance in Richmond.

He was found driving the 18 tonne skip lorry in mid-September, and ran off on foot when he was approached by police.

He was later caught in Twickenham.

The vehicle had three defective tyres, and the speed and distance monitor was found to be defective.

He’s been given a 28 day sentence, suspended for a year, and disqualified for five years.
