People in Kingston claim they haven’t been consulted on plans for water abstraction at Teddington Weir

Thames Water wants to take up to 150 million litres of water a day from Teddington and transfer it to reservoirs in Lee Valley.

The company will replace the water with “highly treated” effluence from Modgen Sewage Works.

If the plan goes ahead, construction for the project will take place on Ham Lands.

This means several thousand journeys by HGVs, will travel partly along residential roads through Kingston.

People in Richmond have been contacted by Thames Water about the plans at every step, but Kingston’s residents claim they have not.

We’ve contacted Thames Water for comment.
