Britain has imposed new sanctions on Belarus - a year after Alexander Lukashenko was re-elected as president.

The foreign secretary and MP for Esher and Walton, Dominic Raab, says the UK doesn't recognise that victory - and claims their leader "continues to crush democracy."

The economic sanctions target the country's state-owned banks and prevent Belarusian air carriers from flying over or landing in the UK.

Speaking at his annual news conference, President Lukashenko dismissed them.
