Spelthorne Borough Council says it has “ambitious” regeneration plans for the town, which include building a number of new homes.
The conservation area was designated in 1975 but the authority says some parts of it are “no longer justified.”
A six-week public consultation has launched on the proposals and can be found via the council’s website.
