The armed forces are being deployed to support hospitals in London struggling with staff shortages caused by a surge in Covid infections. 

The Ministry of Defence says 40 medics will be treating patients - while over 160 staff will help with admin duties.

The money will be distributed over the course of ten years and work to benefit the areas of Shepperton and Spelthorne. 

The aim is to help create more opportunities for youngsters and the underprivileged.

The deadline for funding applications is April.

A spokesperson for the brigade says that heater fires usually start when clothes and bedding are placed too close to them and ignite.

Cyclist, 36 year old Kenneth Vercruyssen from Epsom, died after a collision with a car on Chessington Road on December the 8th. 

His family has described him as an incredible chef, generous with a humble attitude and a smile that could light up a room.

A 15-year-old is being questioned on suspicion of murder. Another boy of the same age has been released on bail.
